COPE Seminar: Prof. Uli Lemmer

Nanostructured Organic Optoelectronic Devices

Organic semiconductors combine the ease of processing with interesting optical and electronic properties. The potential cost effective fabrication of large area devices has brought these materials into the focus of photovoltaic, illumination and large area display technologies. In this presentation the focus will be on lateral and vertical nanostructures for organic optoelectronic devices and systems for sensing applications. The talk covers the application of organic semiconductors in devices such as lasers [1] and photodetectors [2]. Some emphasis is put on the possibilities to integrate organic semiconductor devices into systems. The realization of an optical data link [3] and of waveguide coupled sensing devices [4] is discussed.
